"Lux Aeterna"

For Easter Monday, a performance of "Lux Aeterna," set to an arrangement for voices of the "Nimrod" variation of Edward Elgar's "Enigma Variations." The performers are the Choir of New College, Oxford, in Christ Church Cathedral on Easter Monday, 2008.

Latin text:

Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum,
quia pius es.

Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum,
quia pius es.

Translation:

Let everlasting light shine on them, O Lord
with your saints for ever:
for you art merciful.

Eternal rest grant them, O Lord;
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
With your saints for ever
for Thou art merciful.
